Chrome Books

Can Chromebooks be used for holding a class at home such as a Snow Day?

Absolutely. It may take some preparation for those students who do not have Internet access at home but if you have "Snow Day" assignments prepared beforehand, they can be saved to each students Google Drive and the student can still work on the assignment at home without the need of Internet access. You can also download e-books to the Chromebooks so that students can read their e-books while offline. For those students who do have Internet access, the teacher can hold a virtual classroom utilizing Google Plus to invite all students to accept an invitation that allows them to join a video session as cameras are built-in to the Chromebooks, the teacher and students can see one another on the screen all at once. The teacher can allow who may speak, share files during the session, and much more. Teachers can take this one step further by creating a Google Classroom which we will ask you to refer to the "Google Classroom" Article under the Chromebooks Category for further information.
