Airplane
mode is a setting that allows you to instantly turn off all wireless
communication on your PC. As the name implies, it's especially useful when
you're on an airplane. Wireless communication includes Wi-Fi, mobile broadband,
Bluetooth, GPS or GNSS, near field communication (NFC), and all other types of
wireless communication.
Note
- Even if your PC
has a hardware switch for airplane mode, we recommend using the following
steps instead. Some hardware switches might turn off your wireless connection
in a way that lets certain apps turn the connection back on without
telling you.
To turn
airplane mode on or off
- View a list of
available networks by swiping in from the right edge of the screen,
tapping Settings (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right
corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking
Settings), and then tapping or clicking the network icon (
or ).
- Under Airplane
mode, tap or click the control to turn it on or off.
