Adding a Custom Signature Through Gmail

A custom signature is text (ex: your name, address, phone number, business information, a quote, etc.) as your contact information or a favorite quote) that’s automatically inserted at the bottom of every message you send. Here's a sample signature:

Signatures are separated from the rest of your message by two dashes. To see a signature in Gmail, click the button at the bottom of the message.

Create Signature on a Desktop

  1. Open Gmail or other email service provider (similar with most email service providers)
  2. Click the gear in the top right.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll down to the “Signature” section and enter your new signature text in the box. You can format your text using the buttons directly above the text box.
  5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Signature for Android Users

  1. Open your Inbox or another labeled list of conversations.
  2. Touch Menu > More > Settings > Signature.
  3. Enter a signature.
  4. Touch OK.

Signature for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch Users
Create a Mobile Signature

  1. Click on the Settings icon
  2. Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Scroll down and select Signature
  4. Check the account(s) you want to display your signature (All Accounts or Per Account)
  5. Type in new signature
